A Message for the Next Version of Me

Date: December 10th, 2025 Dear Future Me, Hello! I am writing this letter as I am finishing my university studies in the year 2025. You are reading this in 10 years. By the time you read this, I will have graduated from Ingeniería Civil. I hope I will have achieved many of the goals I am setting today. Right now, I am studying Ingeniería Civil and I am feeling motivated, proud, and excited about finishing my degree. I imagine that in 10 years: • I will have been working in the field of construction, hydraulic projects, road design, and BIM technology for several years. • I will have improved my skills in BIM management, Civil 3D, hydraulic design, road design, and project coordination. • I will have traveled to many places inside and outside Colombia, especially with my girlfriend. • I will have been living in Cartagena, or maybe in another city where my professional career takes me. These are my goals for the future: • To become a successful and recognized civil engineer. • To specialize in BIM and lead major infrastructure projects. • To build financial stability and a better future for my family. • To create a home and a strong, loving family with my partner. • To travel, improve myself, and grow personally and professionally. This is how I hope my life will look: • Working on important infrastructure or coastal protection projects, contributing to the development of my region. • Leading engineering teams or even owning my own construction or BIM consulting company. • Living a stable, peaceful, and happy life, close to my loved ones. I hope that when you read this, you will have become the person I am dreaming of today.
